Buyer questions

Solar Street Light & Outdoor Lighting FAQ

This page answers the technical and procurement questions international buyers ask most often about Mast Lighting's solar street lights, LED street lights, high mast lights and poles. Where a commercial term genuinely depends on the configuration — MOQ, lead time, price — the answer says so rather than inventing a figure.

Two kinds of question, both answered here

Technical questions decide whether the product will survive the site: battery chemistry, autonomy, ingress protection, temperature band, mounting height. Commercial questions decide whether the order can proceed: MOQ, samples, lead time, shipping, warranty and branding. Both sets are covered below and grouped so you can jump straight to the relevant section.

Solar street lights

Technical questions about solar street lighting

How the systems work, how long they last and what they tolerate.

How do solar street lights work?
A photovoltaic module charges a battery during daylight and an intelligent controller powers the LED luminaire after dusk. Mast Lighting systems use LiFePO4 storage and support automatic light control, timer control, PIR motion sensing, intelligent dimming, remote control, app monitoring and fault alarms depending on the configuration ordered.
How long do solar street light batteries last?
LiFePO4 (lithium iron phosphate) cells have a typical service life of 5 to 8 years. The complete solar street light carries a 3-year warranty. LiFePO4 is specified precisely because it tolerates deeper discharge and higher ambient temperature than lead-acid.
How many years does a complete solar street light last?
The luminaire, pole and photovoltaic module normally outlast the battery. With a battery replacement inside the 5–8 year window, a correctly specified installation continues in service well beyond a decade.
How many rainy days of backup do the systems provide?
Standard configurations provide 3 to 7 consecutive rainy days of autonomy, and larger battery capacities are customizable for monsoon regions or long overcast seasons. Runtime options of 5–6 hours and 6–15 hours per night are available on 12V and 24V systems.
What temperature and weather conditions do the products tolerate?
Solar street lights operate from −40°C to 65°C with IP65/IP66 protection. Hot-dip galvanized poles are engineered to withstand wind up to Grade 12 typhoon level.
What is the best mounting height for street lights?
Mounting height follows road width and the required lighting class rather than a fixed rule. Mast Lighting supplies 6m, 8m, 10m and 12m poles plus 20–60m high masts, and the free Dialux simulation confirms the height and spacing that meet the target before production.

Product range

Questions about the product range

What is manufactured here and how the ranges differ.

What wattage and efficiency do your LED street lights offer?
LED street lights are built on a modular 120W to 320W platform reaching up to 200–220 lm/W, with 6500K cool white as standard, anti-glare adjustable-angle optics, die-cast aluminium housings and IP65 protection.
What is the difference between all-in-one and split solar street lights?
All-in-one models integrate panel, battery, LED module and controller in one compact housing and install quickly, which suits urban roads, pathways and parking areas. Split (all-in-two) models deliver higher power output and longer backup time, which suits highways and large-scale infrastructure projects.
What high mast and pole sizes can you supply?
High mast systems range from 20 to 60 metres for ports, airports, stadiums, mining sites, chemical plants, logistics parks and highway interchanges. Lighting poles are hot-dip galvanized in 6m, 8m, 10m and 12m heights, with custom taper square or round designs and anchor bolt bases.
Do you supply poles, traffic structures and power components as well as luminaires?
Yes. Alongside the luminaires, Mast Lighting manufactures lighting poles, traffic signal light poles, garden lights, photovoltaic modules and LiFePO4 batteries — so a complete project can be supplied against one specification and one delivery schedule.

Ordering

MOQ, samples, lead time and payment

Commercial terms depend on the configuration, so these answers direct you to a written confirmation rather than a guessed number.

What is your minimum order quantity?
MOQ varies by model and by the degree of customization involved — a branding-only change behaves very differently from a new housing or a custom pole design. Please contact us with your intended configuration and quantity and we will confirm the MOQ in writing.
Can I order a sample before placing a bulk order?
Sample orders are available. Terms depend on the model and configuration, so please send your enquiry with the specification you want to evaluate and we will confirm the sample arrangement.
What is the lead time?
Lead time depends on the model, the quantity and the extent of customization. Contact us with the configuration and quantity and we will provide a project-specific production schedule.
How does the enquiry and quotation process work?
Send the project parameters — road dimensions, mounting height, spacing, lighting class, quantity and destination. We return a free Dialux design where relevant, a product configuration and factory-direct pricing. Payment terms are confirmed with the quotation.

OEM / ODM

Customization and private-label supply

What can be changed, and how branding is handled.

Do you accept OEM logo and custom branding?
Yes. Logo printing on the lamp housing, on the solar panel and on the packaging is available for bulk orders, together with appearance and packaging customization and private-label documentation.
Which technical parameters can be customized?
Battery capacity, solar panel power, LED wattage, lighting duration, pole design and smart control functions are all specified per order. Colour temperature, optical distribution, pole height and finish are equally open.
Do you provide free lighting design for custom projects?
Yes. Free professional lighting design with Dialux simulation is provided for project enquiries, based on road dimensions, pole height, installation spacing and the applicable local standards.

Export & shipping

Shipping, markets and documentation

How goods leave the factory and reach the destination.

Which markets do you supply?
Mast Lighting holds independent import and export rights and supplies internationally, with priority attention to Africa, South America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Regional configuration guidance is published on the export markets page.
How are the products packed and shipped?
Products ship in standard export packing suitable for sea freight. Because the company holds its own export rights and provides import/export agency services, shipment and documentation are handled by the factory rather than through a separate trading intermediary.
Can you support customs documentation and market compliance?
Documentation requirements vary by destination country and by tender. Tell us the destination market and the compliance requirement with your enquiry and we will confirm which documentation can be provided for that configuration.

Quality & warranty

Certification, testing and after-sales

What is audited, what is tested and what happens after delivery.

What certifications and quality controls do you have?
Mast Lighting is listed as an audited supplier with TÜV Rheinland under audit report number MIC-ASI264744, states ISO9001 quality management, and displays a gallery of ten certification documents. Inspection runs at incoming material, in-process, ageing and pre-shipment stages.
What warranty do you offer?
Solar street lights carry a 3-year warranty, and the LiFePO4 batteries used in them are rated for a typical 5 to 8 year service life.
What after-sales support is available?
Support includes remote troubleshooting, maintenance guidance, installation and commissioning support, and customized installation approaches for difficult environmental conditions.
Can I visit the factory or arrange an inspection?
Yes. Factory visits are welcome and third-party pre-shipment inspection arranged by the buyer can be accommodated. Contact us to schedule a visit or to coordinate with your appointed inspection agency.
