LED Street Light
Modular grid-powered LED road lamps from 120W to 320W reaching up to 200–220 lm/W, with anti-glare optics and IP65 die-cast aluminium housings.
Lighting solution
Signal poles, gantry structures and high-uniformity lighting for intersections, highway approaches, rail corridors and transit depots.
The scenario
Traffic and rail environments are where lighting stops being an amenity and becomes a safety system. At an intersection, a signal head has to be unambiguously readable against a bright sky and against the surrounding street lighting. On a rail corridor, staff work at track level at night around live equipment. On a highway approach, drivers transition between very different luminance levels in a few seconds.
These sites also carry more hardware than any other: signal heads, pedestrian units, cameras, detectors, sign plates and lighting all hang from the same structures, often on cantilever arms reaching over live traffic lanes. The structure has to be engineered for that combined load and wind exposure, and it has to be maintainable without closing the intersection for a day.
Design requirements
Recommended configuration
Final wattage, pole height and spacing are always confirmed by the free Dialux lighting design for the actual geometry. The table below is where most projects of this type begin.
| Sub-scenario | Product | Wattage | Pole / mounting | Spacing | Controls |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Urban signalised intersection | Traffic Signal Light Pole + LED Street Light | 120W–200W lighting | Cantilever arm poles to drawing | Per intersection layout | Municipal signal control; lighting on time or photocell control |
| Highway approach and toll plaza | LED Street Light + High Mast Light | 200W–320W / mast head cluster | 12m columns, 20m–30m masts | Confirmed by Dialux calculation | Mains supply with central monitoring optional |
| Rail transit corridor and platform area | LED Street Light + signal support structures | 120W–250W | 8m–12m galvanized, gantry where required | Confirmed by Dialux calculation | Mains supply, dimming by operating schedule |
| Depot and maintenance yard | High Mast Light | Head cluster per calculation | 20m–40m mast | Per yard dimensions | Zone switching, raising-and-lowering carriage for maintenance |
Mast Lighting fabricates traffic signal poles, cantilever arms and gantry structures to project drawings — arm length, bracket positions, cable routing, base flange pattern and anchor bolt layout are all produced to the customer's or design institute's specification. Everything is hot-dip galvanized inside and out, with optional powder coating over the galvanizing where a municipal colour standard applies.
A signalised intersection typically needs signal poles, street lighting columns and camera or detector mounting — often specified separately and delivered by three suppliers with three finishes and three lead times. Mast Lighting manufactures all of it in-house, so an intersection package arrives coordinated, consistently finished and on one schedule. The same capability covers rail transit signalling support equipment, which sits alongside our lighting and smart-city product lines.
Approach roads, toll plazas and depot yards demand higher uniformity than ordinary street lighting because the eye is adapting between very different luminance levels. Our free Dialux simulation models these zones explicitly, so column height, wattage and spacing — or a switch to high mast lighting for large open yards — is decided on calculated uniformity rather than assumption.
High masts serving depots and interchanges can be supplied with a raising-and-lowering lantern carriage so the luminaire ring winches to ground level for servicing, avoiding lane closures and access equipment. LED road luminaires use modular light engines so a single module can be swapped in a short intervention window.
Service scope
Mast Lighting is TÜV Rheinland audited (MIC-ASI264744) and operates ISO9001 quality management. Engineering support is part of the supply, not a paid extra.
